The Department of Computer Science, under the aegis of AICTE and IQAC organized a one day National Seminar (DGHE approved) on the theme, “Machine Learning: Bridging Disciplines, Breaking Boundaries” on February 14, 2026. This multidisciplinary seminar was conducted to spread awareness about the crucial role of Machine Learning in digital transformation and technological advancement nationwide. A number of students, research scholars, and faculties participated in this huge array of exchange of thoughts in order to enhance their understanding of upgradation of skills required for careers in data sciences, machine learning, AI and analytics. The event witnessed participants from different states of India including different districts of Haryana who presented quality research/review papers. To encourage maximum participation, the seminar covered themes from different disciplines like Science, Home Science, Commerce, Management, Analytics, Humanities and Computer Sciences.
The program began with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Prof. Nasib Singh Gill, Department of Computer Science and Applications, MD University, Rohtak; the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Preeti Gulia, HOD, Computer Science, MD University, Rohtak; Dr. Anand Mehta, President, MDES; Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal and Dr. Manju Dua (former Principal). Dr. Usha Dahiya, Associate Professor, Government College for Girls, Ballabgarh, Faridabad; Prof. Sapna Nagpal, Smt. Sushma Swaraj Government College for Girls, Ballabgarh, Faridabad; Prof. Sandeep Maan, Government College for Girls, Gurugram; Dr. Minakshi Hooda, HOD, Computer Science, DAV Centenary College, Faridabad; Dr. Rekha Mittal, HOD, BCA specialization, IMT, Faridabad; Dr. Neha Jain and Ms. Sandhya, Conveners of the event were also present.
This was followed by a warm welcome of Prof. Nasib Singh Gill Sir, Prof. Preeti Gulia Mam, all the Chair Persons, the Resource Persons with a memento and an eco- friendly planter by Dr. Anand Mehta, Dr. Meenu Dua and Dr. Manju Dua as a token of welcome. In the address by Dr. Meenu Dua, warm wishes were extended for the seminar and she also welcomed all the dignitaries and the participants coming from in and around Faridabad. The Convener of the seminar, Dr. Neha Jain addressed the audience and explained the importance of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in today’s world. The Abstract proceedings booklet was unveiled by the Chief Guest, the Chair Persons, the Resource Persons, the Principal and the Conveners of the event. One and all present on the dais appreciated the efforts of the Editorial Board. Prof. Nasib Singh Gill shared his thoughts about Machine Learning and its indispensable need in today’s time. He also encouraged the teaching fraternity to focus more on developing skills and creativity and contribute to the nation’s prosperity. The Keynote Speaker, Prof. Preeti Gulia also presented the pivotal role of Machine Learning in fields like Genomics and many other interdisciplinary aspects. She explained how the human behavior can be studied using the technique.
The morning Technical Session was chaired by Dr. Usha Dahiya, Associate Professor, Government College for Girls, Ballabgarh, Faridabad and the Judge for the paper presentation session was Dr. Rekha Mittal, HOD, BCA specialization, IMT, Faridabad. The Resource Person for this Technical session was Prof. Sandeep Maan, Government College for Girls, Gurugram who talked about Machine Learning paradigms, popular ML models and how did Artificial Intelligence evolved initially and how it has become a sensation today. This was followed by a dynamic paper presentation session by around 25 participants from different colleges/universities. The first technical session ended with a sumptuous lunch break for the guests and delegates.
The evening Technical Session started with welcoming the Resource Person for the session, Prof. Ihtiram Raza Khan, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi by Dr. Meenu Dua, Dr. Neha Jain and Ms. Sandhya with a memento. The Chair Person for the session was Prof. Sapna Nagpal, Smt. Sushma Swaraj Government College for Girls, Ballabgarh, Faridabad and the Judge for the paper presentation session was Dr. Minakshi Hooda, HOD, Computer Science, DAV Centenary College, Faridabad. Prof. Ihtiram talked about role of AI in making Viksit Bharat and sustainable smart cities. He explained how AI is developing its roots in almost every field like waste management, health and safety, economic development amongst others. This session had paper presentations from about 20 participants from various places.
The Valedictory Session was an eye opener with an intellectual discussion from Dr. Manvi, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Applications, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad who shared her thoughts about the difference between Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and their daily life applications. Around 250 people became a part of this wonderful seminar that showcased transfer of great knowledge and innovative ideas. The distribution of certificates to all the paper presenters was done and the best paper presenter award was bagged by Dr. Nisha Agnihotri and Dr. Bindu Roy, Assistant Professors from DAV Centanary College, Faridabad. A formal vote of thanks was placed by Dr. Neha Jain, HOD, Computer Science who thanked the worthy chief guest for today, all the dignitaries, the participants, and the organizing team for a great and a successful conduct of the seminar. The event ended with the National Anthem in the true spirit of nation’s development.
