Independence Day Celebration on 15th August 2024 by YRC.

On 15th August 2024, the Youth Red Cross Society of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women celebrated Independence Day with great fervor on the college campus. The celebration included a Health Checkup Camp in collaboration with Rotary Blood Bank and a Poster Making Competition on the theme “My Country My Pride.”

Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The event commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by Principal Dr. Manju Dua, which filled the air with patriotic zeal and pride. The ceremony was followed by stirring dance performances by the students on patriotic songs, showcasing their love for the country.

Health Checkup Camp

In the Health Checkup Camp, around 100 students participated and were tested for Hemoglobin, Blood Pressure, and Weight. This initiative aimed to promote health awareness among the students and encourage them to prioritize their well-being.

Poster Making Competition

The Poster Making Competition, themed “My Country My Pride,” saw enthusiastic participation from the students. The winners were as follows:

First Prize: Geetanjali of BSc Medical final year

Second Prize: Jyoti

Third Prize: Neha

Consolation Prize: Sapna of BSc first year

Principal Dr. Manju Dua awarded the prizes and reminded the students of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. She also emphasized the importance of their roles in building a strong and healthy nation.

The Independence Day program was organized under the able guidance of YRC Counsellors Dr. Shveta Arya and Dr. Babita Sharma. The event was a resounding success, instilling a sense of patriotism and responsibility among the students. It was a day of celebration and reflection, honoring the past while looking forward to a brighter future for the nation.
