National Level Cultural Fest, “Tarang 2026”, on April 08, 2026.

K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, successfully hosted its National Level Cultural Fest, “Tarang 2026”, on April 08, 2026. The event served as an eminent platform for the celebration of creativity, artistic excellence, and cultural diversity. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from 26 colleges, with approximately 140 students competing across a wide spectrum of events. The fest was formally inaugurated by Dr. Anand Mehta, President, MDES, thereby setting an auspicious and vibrant tone for the proceedings. The occasion was further dignified by the esteemed presence of the Guests of Honor, Dr. Sunil Sharma, Associate Professor, Government College, Kheri Gujran, and Dr. Pratap Rathi, Director, Youth Welfare, MDU Rohtak, who commended the institution’s initiative and inspired the participants with their encouraging words.
Adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the event, Mr. Sunil Sharma and Mr. Sourabh Verma captivated the audience with their engaging live performances. Mr. Sunil Sharma enthralled the gathering with his lively Haryanvi shayari and folk humour, creating an atmosphere of warmth and cultural resonance. Meanwhile, Mr. Sourabh Verma delivered an electrifying and melodious performance, infused with dynamic Haryanvi and Punjabi beats, leaving the audience spellbound. The competitions were conducted seamlessly across four stages simultaneously, ensuring efficient coordination and execution. The fest featured a diverse array of events, including Poetic Recitation (English & Hindi), Symposium (English & Hindi), Debate (English & Hindi), Rangoli, Poster Making, Cartooning, Mehndi, On-the-Spot Painting, Solo Song, Instrumental Music, Haryanvi Duet Dance, Folk Dance, and Stand-Up Comedy.
The events were adjudicated by a panel of eminent experts from their respective domains. The Dance category was evaluated by Mr. Prakash Malik, a National Level Dancer, Lyricist, and Music Composer, and Mr. Brij Mohan, Director, Brij Nat Mandali Theatre Society, Faridabad. The Music competitions were judged by Mr. Manish Bhatia, Founder of Sargam Productions, and Dr. Kailash Verma, former Station Director, All India Radio. The Fine Arts segment was assessed by Ms. Meeta Rampal, Specialist Teacher with Pidilite Industries and spokesperson for Scholastic India, and Mr. Mohit Sharma, Designer and Aesthetician for L’Official Magazine. The Poetry competitions were adjudicated by Ms. Rekha Joshi, retired Associate Professor (Department of Physics), and Dr. Jyotsna Singh, retired Associate Professor (Department of Life Sciences), K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad.
The Debate competitions were judged by Dr. Divya Jyoti, Professor of English and Chairperson, Department of Literature and Languages, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, and Ms. Poonam Sachdeva, retired Associate Professor (Department of Humanities), K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad. All distinguished guests and judges were accorded a warm welcome and felicitated with saplings and tokens of appreciation, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its expression of gratitude. The event received generous support from sponsors, including Rtn. Manoj Sachdeva (President, Rotary Club, Faridabad IMT), Rotary Anne Mrs. Rajni Sachdeva, and V.K. Global Publications, whose contributions significantly enhanced the grandeur and success of the fest. On this occasion, the Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, highlighted the notable achievements of the institution and extended her best wishes to all participants for their performances and future endeavors.

The fest culminated in a Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherein the Chief Guest, Ms. Himadri Kaushik (IPS, Crime Branch, Faridabad), felicitated the winners and lauded the efforts of the participants and organizers. She extended her heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their commendable performances and further exhorted the students to remain steadfast, focused, and resolute in the pursuit of their aspirations, emphasizing the importance of consistency and dedication in achieving success. Furthermore, students who represented the college at the National Qawwali competition were also felicitated on this occasion for securing the Second Position at the All India University National Qawwali, thereby bringing laurels to the institution. The formal proceedings concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by Dr. Madhu Singh, who expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour, the distinguished panel of judges, and all participating contingents for their enthusiastic involvement. She also extended her heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Anand Mehta, President, MDES, Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, all faculty members, the administrative department, and the supporting staff for their unwavering support, meticulous coordination, and invaluable cooperation in ensuring the resounding success of the event.
