The Environmental Management System (EMS) Club celebrated Earth Day on 21st April 2025. It was a three day celebration (21st-23rd April 2025).

The Environmental Management System (EMS) Club of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women Faridabad, in association with IQAC celebrated Earth Day on 21st April 2025. It was a three day celebration (21st-23rd April 2025). The members of the EMS Club along with college students were taken to the waste management area. They were shown the various coloured trash bins kept there in which green waste and plastic waste is disposed off. The canteen waste is separated into wet waste and dry waste and disposed of accordingly. Also the dry waste from trees (leaves) are all collected and dumped into the compost pit where they get converted to organic manure. This organic manure is then used in the college itself for planting trees. The students were also advised to follow this practice at their homes by keeping an earthen pot in their house and periodically keeping the green waste from their kitchens in it thereby generating the organic manure. The event was organised to make students aware about the importance of segregation of waste and how it can be reused so as to reduce environment pollution.

On day 2, an energy-saving activity was organised involving enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. As part of the initiative, awareness stickers were pasted, and switchboards in classrooms, laboratories, staff rooms, and other areas of the college campus were clearly marked with fans and lights to promote the message of electricity conservation. This practical step aimed to instil a sense of responsibility and mindfulness among campus users towards sustainable energy usage.

For day 3, a slogan writing competition was held to celebrate Earth Day, focusing on themes such as conservation, sustainability and environmental protection. Students actively participated, showcasing their creativity and passion for environmental conservation. The slogans emphasized the need to protect the Earth and its resources for future generations. The students recognized for their outstanding slogans were, First Position: Sapna (B.Sc Life Sciences 1st year), Second Position: Adiba (B.Sc Life Sciences 1st year), Third Position: Nidhi Anand (B.Sc Life Sciences 1st year), Consolation: Aishwarya (B.Sc Life Sciences 1st year)
