The Phytozootech Club of Department of Science organised an activity titled “The Hidden Heroes: Microbes at Work for Humanity” on 17 November 2025.

The Phytozootech  Club of Department of Sciences of  K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad organised an activity titled “The Hidden Heroes: Microbes at Work for Humanity” on 17 November 2025 .
For the Activity students prepared various fermented foods and  probiotic drinks like Fermented Ginger alle,Ginger lemon probiotic drinks,Kanji,Ragi ambali,Kimchi and Bio-enzymes showcasing the practical role of microbes in  our daily life. The students worked in teams, demonstrated excellent coordination, and displayed great interest throughout the event. The activity helped them learn about the significance of beneficial microbes, develop scientific temper, and enhance teamwork, creativity, and communication skills.
Overall, the activity was highly informative and engaging. It provided students with hands-on learning experience and deepened their understanding of the importance of microbes and  how fermented foods are healthy for us.
Dr. Anand Mehta, President MDES visited the club’s exhibition, appreciated the students’ efforts and performance, and encouraged them for their excellent work.    The event was successfully conducted under the consistent support of our Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, whose vision and encouragement play a vital role in promoting such academic and skill-enhancing activities in the college. Her motivation enabled the department to conduct this meaningful event for the students.
The activity was enriched by the  Head, Department of Science,  Dr. Beena Sethi and Dr. Shveta Arya, who continuously support innovative learning practices and encourage active student participation in departmental programs. Their leadership helped in creating a positive learning environment for the activity.
The event was coordinated by the Club In-charges, Dr. Mamta Singh and Dr. Priti, along with other faculty members of the Department of Biosciences. They guided the students throughout the activity and ensured its smooth and effective execution.
The club President (Priyanka) and Secretary (Shreya) along with 50 students  participated enthusiastically in the activity.
The department looks forward to organising more such activities in the future.
