The Department of Political Science organized a Declamation Competition on the occasion of United Nations Day, 24 October 2025.

The Department of Political Science, *K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad*, under the *aegis of IQAC*, organized a Declamation Competition  on the occasion of   United Nations Day, 24 October 2025. The theme of the event was *“Reforming the UN Security Council: Why India Deserves a Permanent Seat?”* The event was *convened by Dr. Madhurima Dubey and Dr. Babita Singh*, while the judging panel    included  Dr. Babita Sharma from the *Department of English* and *Dr. Pooja Tyagi* from the *Department of Hindi*, whose insightful evaluation and encouragement added academic depth to the competition.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who eloquently presented their views on India’s role in global governance and the urgent need for structural reforms in the United Nations. After a series of impressive speeches, *Himanshi (M.A. Political Science, Final Year)* secured the *First Position*, *Isha (B.A. Third Year)* won the *Second Position*, and *Tannu Awana (M.A. Political Science)* stood *Third*, while a *Consolation Prize* was awarded to *Devi Smita (B.Com. Hons.)* for her commendable performance. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, whose presence encouraged the participants and added prestige to the occasion. Other attendees included *Dr. Veenapani Singh*, *Ms. Diksha Chawla*, *Ms. Madhu Rathi*, *Ms. Sakshi*, *Ms. Diksha*, and *Ms. Tanshul*. The programme concluded with the *National Anthem*, marking a dignified end to a meaningful academic exercise that enriched students’ understanding of a significant global issue.
