Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, under its Legal Literacy Cell and IQAC, organized an Expert Talk on “Mental Health Awareness and Prevention of Student’s Suicide in Higher Education Institutions” on 29th August 2025, in compliance with the directions of the Department of Higher Education, Haryana.The programme began with the lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge and awareness. Principal Dr. Meenu Dua welcomed the guest, Advocate Manmeet Kaur, with a sapling and also addressed the students.The programme witnessed the gracious presence of faculty members including Dr. Miltlesh Agrawal (HOD, Arts), Dr. Madhurima Dubey, Dr. Veena Pani Singh, Dr. Babita Singh, Dr. Madhu Rathi, Ms. Diksha Chawla, Ms. Sakshi, and Ms. Diksha, whose participation added academic value to the event.In her address, Advocate Manmeet Kaur highlighted the major causes of mental stress among students, emphasized preventive strategies, and explained the legal responsibilities of higher education institutions in safeguarding student well-being. The deliberation encouraged students to share their concerns, raise queries, and reflect on practical solutions, making the session highly interactive and engaging.The discussion not only deepened awareness about mental health challenges but also underlined the importance of legal and institutional frameworks in addressing them. Overall, the Expert Talk proved to be an academically enriching initiative that strengthened sensitivity towards mental health within the campus environment.The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking a dignified closure to the event.
